But in the last few weeks since I've been on a blogging hiatus, we have celebrated Easter!
The day before Easter we took the kids to an Easter egg hunt at Chastain Park and then that afternoon we dyed eggs. Kahn was really into dying eggs this year so it was actually a fun activity to do with him. Olivia wasn't too into it...which is fine with me--I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of dying eggs either. And then that night after the kids went to bed, me and big Kahn (aka the Easter bunny) made up their Easter baskets and hid them in the house and hid the eggs in the backyard.
It was fun watching the kids look for their baskets in the morning and then watching them on their egg hunt in their jammies in the backyard. By far their favorite part of the whole day was eating the candy in their baskets. It's not often they get to eat Reese's Peanut Butter cups at 8am, but how could I deny them when they were displayed so beautifully in their baskets. I definitely had a few too (and in the week following Easter, me and big Kahn managed to finish off all of their candy).
Here's a few pictures of the kids enjoying the Easter festivities! As they get older, the holidays get more and more special and we enjoy watching the excitement the holidays bring as well as teaching them the real reasons for the holidays (and why we're letting them eat candy at 8am)!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter with their family or friends!
