Years ago we decided that we didn't like to be on the roads on New Years Eve and would rather spend the evening in the neighborhood with friends. Luckily for us, we have the best neighbors who know how to throw a good party.
Our first New Years Eve in the Minihan's basement was December 31st, 2006. Six years later, the party still rocks.
This year, the party was kicked up a notch with the addition of a theme--Fire and Ice. All guests came dressed in red or white and Melissa and Kelli jazzed up the basement with color themed decorations. Even the exposed white insulation of the unfinished basement seemed to fit in this year.
And obviously, the party was awesome. Duh!
I'd like to say it's the one night a year that Kahn and I totally let loose, but let's be honest...you all know that would not be true since Kahn and I love a party and we especially love a good party with cocktails with our best friends. But this night is one of our favorites every year...Lots of laughs, lots of dancing, lots of karaoke, and lots of drinking. And how convenient...we could stumble home!
I hope everyone had a fabulous time however you decided to welcome the new year!
Happy 2013!
